De Soto Public Library

Director's Message

We are pleased to provide this online presence for your convenience and enrichment.

A book with pages in the shape of a heart

Welcome to the De Soto Public Library.  Our mission is to create a community of readers and to empower individuals by providing free access to information and a universe of ideas.  Our staff is devoted to connecting you with the information you need to improve and enrich your life.  We are glad you are here!

Our library is part of the Missouri Evergreen consortium.  What that means to you is that you have access to over 5 million items.  If we do not have the item you would like in our library, there is a great chance we will be able to borrow it from another library and have it brought here for you.  To see all of the wonderful materials you are able to borrow, just click on the Missouri Evergreen icon on the top left of this page, or you can download the app.

In addition to books, the library has magazines, DVDs, STEM kits, health kits, audiobooks on CD, games, telescopes, binoculars, and even fishing poles.  E-books and e-audiobooks are available through Libby and Hoopla. We have a weekly preschool story hour that meets everyone Monday at 10:30am.  We also have a variety of other programs throughout the month, so be sure to check out our calendar or sign up for our monthly newsletter.

As you can see, De Soto Public Library is more than just books. Everyone is welcome here.  Stop by and visit us today!  We look forward to serving you.
